The Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) aims to promote, develop and disseminate the discipline of Chemistry, both in its aspect of pure science and in that of its applications, throughout the Spanish state. The RSEQ is the successor in the branch of Chemical Sciences of the Royal Spanish Society of Physics and Chemistry, founded in 1903, and its purpose is to facilitate the advancement and improvement of its scientific, teaching, research and professional activity in the field of Chemical Sciences and Chemical Engineering. As a scientific, non-governmental and non-profit institution, it seeks to provide the means to satisfy the scientific needs of its members.
There are six categories of membership: ordinary, under 40, under 26, retired, RSEF reciprocity and secondary school teacher. To achieve its aims, the RSEQ is structured into 29 Specialised Groups (GE) and 20 Territorial Sections (ST). It currently has around 5,500 members.
It publishes the quarterly journal “Anales de Química de la RSEQ” and publishes its news through the RSEQ Bulletin every two weeks. It also participates in the Chemistry Europe consortium of European journals and is a member of EuChemS.
