Such an approach can minimize or even eliminate the use and generation of toxic and hazardous substances in the chemical industry, promoting practices that are safer for the environment and human health. The twelve Principles of Green Chemistry, stated by Paul T. Anastas and John C. Warner in 1998, have been established as principal guidelines to achieve chemical processes that are clean, safe, sustainable and having the least possible impact on our ecosystems. These guidelines are essential to address the environmental challenges of our time and the future, promoting sustainability through new scientific-technological developments that are more equitable and respectful towards the environment and thus improve the quality of life.<\/p>\n
The Green Chemistry Division (GEQV) of the RSEQ was created in January 2024 with the aim to promote and disseminate the scientific developments of this discipline in all areas of our society. The Green Chemistry Symposium is the first formal event to present it to the society. Reinforced by the presentations of Paul T.
